Intended Use
G418 Sulfate (Geneticin) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for the selection and maintenance of eukaryotic cells that have been stably transfected with a neomycin resistance gene (neo or nptII). It effectively eliminates non-transfected cells by inhibiting protein synthesis, allowing only resistant cells to survive. G418 is commonly applied in establishing stable cell lines, maintaining selective pressure in culture, and optimizing killing concentrations for various mammalian and other eukaryotic cell types
